Girl Scout Cookie Detail

Engine 31 and Duty 3 with a crew of 6 volunteers participated in an Girl Scout rally on 9-27-2015. Engine 31 was there for display as kids were able to learn about fire prevention, sit in the fire truck, and try on some of the fire gear. At the end of the day, the troops graciously donated 5 cases of girl scout cookies for the firehouse to enjoy.

Engine Assists on Rescue

On September 9th, 2015, Engine 31 was alerted to assist units in the area of Route 27 and Sullivan Road with a vehicle collision with one trapped. Engine 31 arrived and assisted with extrication efforts. (photo from Hampsteadvfd.org)

Fire Alarm Turns into Working Fire

Engine 33 and Duty 3 were responding to a fire alarm when dispatch advised them that a firefighter was on scene with smoke showing. Duty 3 arrived shortly after advising smoke showing from the second floor and roof of a 2 story house. The engine crew stretched a line to the second floor where they began searching for the fire. Fire was located on the first floor and was extinguished by crews from 3 and 10. Chief 3-1 (Starry) had the command.

1 Trapped on 97

On 9-12-15, units were alerted for a vehicle collision with rescue on Route 97. Chief 3-1 arrived with command and advised one trapped. Units arrived and removed the driver’s side of the vehicle to make access to the patient.

When: Westminster Fallfest, September 26 and 27, 2015. Plants will be delivered Saturday morning. You may pick them up at the firehouse anytime that weekend or at the Canteen Committee’s booth at the Fallfest.

Cost: $6.00 per pot or 2 pots for $10.00.

2015-MUMS Sale

The department is saddened to learn of the passing of Floyd Neudecker

Floyd was a life member and retired career engineer for our department.  The final arrangements are:

Visitation at Pritts on Tuesday 9/8 from 2-4 and 6-8pm with fire department memorial at 7pm. Funeral will be Wednesday 9/9 at 11am, also at Pritts. Class A uniform.

He requested to be transported to his final resting place on top of our antique engine R-32 that was his favorite to drive and pump.
