- WFD is a volunteer organization. Members receive no financial
compensation for their time.
- WFD have Bylaws and Standard Operating Guidelines that
govern the organization and all members are expected to abide by same. Copies
of the documents are provided upon acceptance into the department.
- If you are joining as an Emergency Response Member (as
opposed to Associate/Administrative membership, etc), you are expected to
complete the appropriate FIRE and/or EMS training program(s) within the first
year of your membership. Previous training/experience will be considered.
- EMT 134+ hours of classroom/practical training
- Firefighter I 104+ hours of classroom/practical
training
- HAZMAT Operations Level 24 hours of classroom
training
- Training is required before you may participate in
Fire and/or EMS field operations.
- Associate members are required to give at least 50 hours
of fund raising time each year. Administrative members are expected
to give 100 hours of service each year.
- Emergency Response members with less than 10 years of
service will be required to participate in 10 hours of standby duty each month.
Emergency Response members also must complete 12 hours of training per year
to keep their riding privileges.
- Members are strongly encouraged to participate in our
fund raising events.
- All members are on probation for the first year of their
membership.
- You must be 18 years of age to join our senior membership
