2015 Annual Breathing Apparatus Refresher

This year, firefighters had to, while in full turnout gear and BA, climb a ladder to the second floor of the training tower that was filled with smoke.  Enter the window checking the safety of the floor, begin a room search for victims.  During the search, netting was dropped on you to simulate ceiling collapsing on you and trapping you.  The firefighter then has to properly call for a MAYDAY providing all the correct information for personnel to rescue them.

A great night of training with fellow departments

Training session with Union Bridge FD.  Training is how we keep our skills sharp and working with other departments is essential since we rarely handle a fire incident without at least a second department responding.    Photos by FF Marques Price.
