A New Ladder Truck for WFD!

On Wednesday, January 6, 2021, Westminster Fire Department took delivery of a 2020 E-One Typhoon Ladder Truck. Totaling nearly $1.3 million dollars, this new piece of apparatus will serve the citizens of Westminster for many years to come. Check out the pictures below!

New Tower 3 replaces a 1997 E-One HP105 Aerial Platform Ladder Truck

It is a 2020 E-One Aerial Platform Ladder Truck Custom built by E-One of Ocala Florida

Basic details of this apparatus include:

  • Cab style-Typhoon 74” 5-Firefighter cab
  • Aerial Platform Vertical Reach 100’
  • X15 Cummins 600HP Engine
  • EVS4500 Allison Transmission
  • 46’ 7” Length Overall
  • 260” Wheelbase
  • Unit weight is 71,065 lbs. prior to loading equipment
  • 179 Total Feet of Ground Ladders
  • 12KW Harrison Hydraulic Generator
  • Monitor Pipe Akron StreamMaster II capable of flowing 1250 Gallon per minute of water at any angle/elevation

A committee consisting of the following members spent approximately 1400 combined manhours on this project to date. The first committee meeting was on 3/28/2018, the truck was ordered on 2/13/2019, and the truck was delivered on 1/6/2021.
