Members Train with Live House Burn

On Sunday, May 31st, Manchester Volunteer Fire Department hosted a live house burn. Six members of the Westminster Volunteer Fire Department were able to participate and gain some valuable experience fom this style of training. Occasionally, members of the community will donate their homes they are looking to teardown. These opportunities allow firefighters to practice their skills in a real-world environment. Firefighters get to experience real fires in wood, drywall, and plaster walled rooms not our normal metal sea containers. The ability to experience real fire dynamics in a controlled environment is priceless. Our thanks go to the family who donated the home, Manchester Volunteer Fire Department, and the rest of the supporting cast who made this possible.
