Floyd was a life member and retired career engineer for our department.  The final arrangements are:

Visitation at Pritts on Tuesday 9/8 from 2-4 and 6-8pm with fire department memorial at 7pm. Funeral will be Wednesday 9/9 at 11am, also at Pritts. Class A uniform.

He requested to be transported to his final resting place on top of our antique engine R-32 that was his favorite to drive and pump.

Westminster National Night out

Today, we say congratulations to one of the longest running voices of Carroll’s 911 service.  Dispatcher Charles Barnhart retired today after dispatching since 1973.

If so, you missed some awesome MD Steamed Crabs, Corn, Pit Beef, Fruits, Veggies, Music, etc.

Check back at the beginning of 2016 when we post our events list, but you can reserve the 3rd Saturday in July as tentative.

This year, firefighters had to, while in full turnout gear and BA, climb a ladder to the second floor of the training tower that was filled with smoke.  Enter the window checking the safety of the floor, begin a room search for victims.  During the search, netting was dropped on you to simulate ceiling collapsing on you and trapping you.  The firefighter then has to properly call for a MAYDAY providing all the correct information for personnel to rescue them.
